Southwell is a fascinating and charming small town in the heart of rural Nottinghamshire. It has two great treausures, its medieval Minster and its workhouse recently restored and opened to the public by the National Trust. This visit will focus on both of these and will also give us an opportunity to wander around the shops, cafes and pubs in the town centre.
The highlight will be a guided tour of the Minster where we can marvel at the stupendous craftsmanship of the medieval stonemasons who produced the intricate naturalstic carvings that adorn the Minster: ‘ the ‘Flowers of Southwell’.
This will be a coach tour that leaves from Tettenhall Green. Tickets can be obtailed at our regular meetings or via our trips organiser, Wallean Boller – firstname.lastname@example.org
